The Asheville City Council will hold a special meeting to conduct a swearing in ceremony for new City Manager DK Wesley at 3:30 p.m. on January 8, 2026, in the Council Chamber, located on the 2nd Floor of City Hall.  After the swearing in, the community is invited to attend a welcome reception at 4:00 p.m. in The Century Room at Pack's Tavern, located at 20 South Spruce Street, Asheville, N.C.

 

How to Participate Remotely

To accommodate those who do not yet feel secure attending in person, or those whose are precluded from attending because of schedules or other personal factors, City Council will continue to engage with those members of our community using the following options for participation:

  1. The live meeting will be streamed on the City's YouTube Channel which can be accessed through the YouTube icon on the front page of the City's website or via the livestream at the bottom of this page.
  2. You may listen to the meeting through via phone (855-925-2801, meeting code 2987).
  3. Finally, the public can communicate with the Council by emailing them directly at any time - ashevillenccouncil@ashevillenc.gov.
