Urban Land Institute Advisory Panel on Economic Recovery
Urban Land Institute Advisory Panel on Economic Recovery
The City of Asheville is partnering with national land use and economic experts at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to proactively address economic and environmental recovery after Tropical Storm Helene. This collaboration brings objective, third-party recommendations to help Asheville build a more resilient future. ULI's assistance is sponsored by the ULI Foundation with support from ULI members, demonstrating national support for Asheville's recovery. Community input will be vital to the ULI's work, culminating in a public presentation of recommendations on August 1, 2025.
The ULI panel of experts will focus on making commercial districts more resilient to flooding, building a stronger workforce, and rethinking land use in floodplains. There will be multiple opportunities for community engagement during the panel's visit from July 27 to August 1.
